Strict Legal Action Demanded Against Officials Who Prevented a Sikh Girl from Appearing in Exam for Wearing Kakars: Adv. Rajinder Pal Anand

Patiala,Addressing a press conference today, Shri Rajinder Pal Anand, Advocate, former DSP, and National Senior Vice President of Shri Hindu Takht (Head Office: Kali Mata Mandir, Patiala), condemned the recent incident in Rajasthan where a Sikh student from Tarn Taran was barred from appearing in the Rajasthan Judicial Examination. She was denied entry solely because she was wearing her religious articles of faith (Kakars).The authorities demanded that she remove her Kirpan and Kara before being allowed to sit for the exam. Shri Rajinder Pal Anand strongly stated that by doing so, the concerned officials violated the Constitution of India and discriminated against Sikhs with hateful prejudice.He reminded that the Sikh community has made the greatest sacrifices for India’s independence and dignity. He appealed to both the Central Government and the Rajasthan State Government to take strict legal action against the responsible officials for this act of racial and religious discrimination, and to ensure that the Sikh girl is given another chance to sit for her examination.Advocate Rajinder Pal Anand further pointed out that such unfortunate incidents regarding Kakars have occurred multiple times in the past. He urged the Central Government to issue proper and binding directions to all State Governments across India to ensure that such tragic and discriminatory events do not occur again in the future.
